The pad has a 19 mm diameter cut hole. When working on Dual Action machines, a big problem is a high temperature that passes from the machine to the backing plate and then to the polishing pad. The central opening provides better ventilation and extends the durability of the pad. This solution also prevents clogging the pad centre with a compound. Due to the use of a larger diameter of Velcro than the typical sizes of the mounting plates, the pressing force of the machine is distributed over the entire working surface of the sponge.
